BioDana Arthur has studied classical piano for twelve years, competing in competitions at Loyola University, Southeastern Louisiana University, and in various areas in southern Louisiana, medaling in the first three places in several events including LMTA Rally, sonata, and romantic/contemporary programs. After receiving a vocal scholarship, Dana attended Southeastern Louisiana University where she studied classical voice and piano, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance in May 2015. She competed and placed in both the Southern Regional N.A.T.S. and Louisiana State N.A.T.S. as a finalist. Dana has sung in church choirs as a professional and scholarship vocalist along with currently serving as a cantor for masses, services, weddings, funerals, and vocalist/pianist for private events. She has performed onstage in opera/musical theatre productions including It’s Only Life – A New Musical Revue, La Perichole (Frasquinella), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Beggar Woman/Lucy), and Southeastern’s: Opera by the Slice (soloist). Dana is a singer/songwriter with years of previous and current experience that started in her teen years with working in the studio on original material and session keyboard work for other musicians. To date, she has recorded and produced full length albums of original material and has had her work aired on U.S. and European radio. Diving into the world of film making, Dana has most recently finished composing an original score for a short film, "The Language of Silence," which was first screened in the New Orleans Film Festival and will be showing in other film avenues in the future. Dana's original song, "Blue" is also featured in the upcoming short film "Here They Come," from Irish filmmaker Sean Brien, set to release later in 2022. Besides composing, Dana has also directed and edited her music videos for "Blue" and "Helen of Troy." Musical content from Dana across several social media platforms has accrued over 1.1 million views and counting.
Dana was recently interviewed by and featured on the cover of “ARTENZZA” magazine. In March 2022, Dana was interviewed and featured on Triple Threat FM Radio out of New York with DJ Echo. DJ Echo also featured Dana's newest track, "Helen of Troy" in the Top 25 Tracks of 2022 on "The Echo Chamber." Besides her compositional endeavors, Dana is a voice and piano instructor. She also has recently taken on the position of soprano section leader for St. Timothy's choir on the Northshore. Having been involved in many musical forums, Dana has performed in full length solo concerts and recitals and has been a featured soloist with full orchestras. In December 2022, Dana was selected to be a featured soloist with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra for their annual "Home for the Holidays" concert. She was also a featured soloist for St. Timothy's "Christmas on the Northshore," accompanied by the Northshore Orchestra. As of December 2021, Dana signed a recording contract with the US label, 418 Music and released her EP "Helen of Troy" in February 2022. Featured on the EP are remixes produced by Grammy nominated DJ and producer, StoneBridge. It is currently receiving global airplay, being featured on stations such as Radio Danz and SiriusXM. After release, "Helen of Troy" reached the Top 40 on Traxsource and Top 20 on Beatport. Besides her compositional endeavors, she is a voice and piano instructor. |
